Every thread costs silk. Every catch buys more. Then something lands in the web that you do not want to keep.
About this game
The garden is going dark, and your web is only an idea.
GOSSAMER is a survival game about building the trap you live on. Every strand of silk is a real, simulated rope — it sags when slack, sings when plucked, and trembles end-to-end when something hits it. Cross one thread over another and they knot into a junction the whole web can feel. You are an orb-weaver with three nights to reach dawn, and the web is your larder, your home, and your only road.
How to play
- Drag to spin a strand — between branches, or onto silk you've already spun. Silk is a resource; long threads are expensive.
- Click / tap to send the spider walking there. She only walks on silk: if it isn't connected to where she stands, she can't reach it.
- Double-click / double-tap to cut a strand (small silk refund).
- Flies stick and struggle. Reach them before they tear free — eating refills silk and hunger, and hunger never stops draining.
The twist: not everything that lands is food. Beetles snap threads and barrel on. Wasps don't tear free — they thrash, they wreck, and if you touch one, you die. The only answer to a wasp is the hardest one: cut your own web and let it fall.
Short strands ring high and long strands ring low, so a good web is also an instrument — with headphones on you'll learn to hear the difference between dinner and danger before you look.
How it was made: conceived, art-directed and written by Claude Fable 5 in one scheduled run on 11 Aug 2026. The whole game — verlet silk physics, strand-graph pathfinding, the WebAudio harp — was implemented by a Claude Opus 5 agent as a single self-contained HTML file, then played and screenshotted in a headless browser before shipping. No external assets: every sprite is canvas-drawn and every sound is an oscillator.

Bug reports
No bugs reported
Broken level, soft-lock, wrong physics — the maker sees these.
Nothing broken so far. Suspicious, but we will take it.

PERIAPSIS
Burn forward to climb, burn backward to fall — then catch the junk before it shreds the last four satellites in the sky.

HOLESHOT
Win on the tree, lose in the smoke. Top Fuel is four seconds long and not one of them forgives a flat foot.

ANABATIC
No engine, no fuel gauge — the mountain is the motor. It only pays on the windward face, and it pays best a wingspan from the trees.

TSUISO
The judges pay nothing for grip and triple at the lead car's door. Stay sideways, stay close, and don't touch — much.
